ASUS ZenFone 2, the world's first 4GB RAM Smartphone finally lands in Singapore !
I received a set of the ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE551ML about 1 month ago, and was very privileged to test it out for myself. So after trying & personally using this phone for a month now, here's my review of the phone & I hope it helps any of you who are looking for a new phone!

1. Look & Feel

The ASUS ZenFone2 ZE551ML features:
  • Sleek look with the ASUS trademark concentric circle design and a metallic hairline finish
  • Incredible screen size : 5.5 Inch FULL HD in a 5-inch phone body
  • Rear keys for volume control and ease when taking photos
  • Available in Hairline Metallic Finish in Black, Gold, Silver and Red
If you're wondering, I got the Silver one!
The ASUS ZenFone2 ZE551ML is big, but has a slightly curved design that enables an easy grip. It is also super light at only 170 grams! So carrying it around is super convenient.

The most crucial thing I look for in a smartphone is the camera. Due to the nature of my job as a blogger and a self-proclaimed serial Instagrammer (LOL) , a good camera is definitely a must.
So for the past month, I have been testing and trying out the many photography functions and features that come in the ASUS ZenFone 2, and I must say, I'm impressed!

I compared it with my current phone's camera for the purpose of this blog post to show you guys how the ASUS ZenFone 2's camera fares

1. Wide angle lens

Who can say no to having a wide angle camera in your phone? Many times I find myself stretching my hands to the point I'm sending cramps my way (lol) just to fit everyone and everything into the frame on my current phone.

The ASUS ZenFone 2 has a 13MP rear-facing PixelMaster camera with an f/2.0 wide-aperture lens and a 5MP front-facing camera's 85 degree wide-angle lens.

Not only the rear-camera's wide-angled.. the front camera too?! YES PLEASE!

These photos were taken from the holding the 2 phones at more or less the same distance.
Matt took this photo of my friend and I and look!! We weren't even sitting that close together and we both could fit into a frame so comfortably with excess space at the sides.

Under Indoor lighting conditions
Here are some wide-angled selfies!
If you're a fan of taking selfies like myself, then you will LOVE that this phone comes with an In-built beauty selfie mode! All you have to do is to switch the camera to the front and switch on the beauty mode.

2. Beauty Selfie Mode
You'll be surprised to find modes that can enlarge your eyes, shrink the size of your face, smoothen your skin and even add blusher on your cheeks!
The best part is that you can set the intensity of each function on a scale of 1-10. I like to set it at level 2 for a natural "i was born with such good skin and features" look.

HAHA! Just told you guys my secret to my recent selfies.. oops!

Larger eyes, smaller face and smoother skin? Girls, don't tell me you're not intrigued already!

3. Backlight Performance
I personally also felt that the ASUS Zenfone2 fares better in terms of photos taken in a backlit condition. a third of my face and the windows totally disappeared when I tried using my current phone to take a selfie!

4. Vibrant and lively colors
Similar to the photos I showed you guys above, I'm loving the super bright, vibrant and sharp photos taken using the ASUS ZenFone2 !
I promise these photos are not retouched and they look even more vibrant on the phone's 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS Display !

On top of that, this phone also comes with a TON of other camera functions that will definitely come in handy for the photo-enthusiasts.

5. In-built camera functions

So cool isn't it?

6. Monster Performance

Apart from the amazing camera, the ASUS ZenFone2 is also equipped with 4GB RAM that provides users with the "monster performance" allowing for smoother multi-tasking and gaming experience.

The ZenFone 2 is powered by a 64-bit 2.3GHz Super Quad-Core Intel processor which balances brilliant performance with great power efficiency.

Not only that, this phone is DUAL SIM, Dual-active 4G LTE device that allows you to have 2 SIM cards on the device. The best part, you can use both SIM cards at the same time! Receive calls, text messages from 2 different numbers on the same phone, so you can be assured that no calls are missed and you won't have to carry 2 separate phones anymore!

For users that are always complaining about their phones going out of battery too soon will be glad to know that the ZenFone 2 is equipped with BoostMaster Fast Charging technology that allow users to charge up to 60% battery in just 39 mins! Yay no more waiting for half a day for your phone to be fully charged now :)

There are 3 different models for the ZenFone 2 that caters to different users.
1.     ZE551ML is the flagship 5.5-inch Full-HD model that comes in 3 different versions in terms of specs:
a.    ZE551ML 4GB/64GB, 2.3GHz processor
b.    ZE551ML 4GB/32GB, 2.3GHz processor (This is what I'm using!)
c.     ZE551ML 2GB/32GB, 1.8GHz processor
2.     ZE550ML is the mid-range 5.5-inch HD model that comes in 2GB/16GB, and a 1.8GHz processor
3.     ZE500CL is the lower range 5.0-inch HD model that comes in 2GB/16GB, and a 1.6GHz processor

7. Overall Review
Overall, I am very impressed with my new ASUS ZenFone 2 for its high quality and especially the incredible camera that it has become the phone I use for all my selfies and photos.
The ZenFone 2 models are also EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE (I got a shock when I saw the prices), at only $249 UP !

The Monster Performance ZE551ML (4GB/64GB) is only retailing at $499 which is think is super reasonable considering its quality and performance.
