Multi-tasking: Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

Tuesday, February 07, 2017

In the past, I would shun away from oils because the first thought that would hit me would be how oily it is. I mean afterall, oils ARE oily right?
It is not only till about 6 months ago that I was introduced to the Nuxe  Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse. I always knew that this product existed as it has been around for years and years in the market.
The iconic squarish glass bottle has been quite an icon for Nuxe, but it has been too daunting for me to try in Singapore's weather as I thought it would be too heavy and oily for the singapore's climate.

So, I first took it with me to London in August last year.

It was transitioning from Summer to Autumn and in such inconsistent weather and dry air from the winds & flights , I took the Nuxe Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse with me in my carry-on to put it to the test.

Throughout the flight, I applied it all over my body, my arms, legs, fingers, and yes even my face and the roots of my hair because it's exactly what it says its for. The first impression I had was that the SMELL of this oil was so good!

Being someone with eczema skin, I'm very paranoid when I use fragranced products because it usually means that my skin would itch & react to whatever artificial ingredients are in there very soon. This though, had a really gentle, soothing smell. Flipped back on the bottle and found out that it is made up of 6 precious botanical oils - Macadamia, Hazelnut, Borage, Sweet Almond, Camelia and St. John's Wort.
It is also silicon and mineral oils free, making this dry oil 97.8% natural. Which is very high! Most of the oils I've used don't even include the percentage of how natural they are... oops.

HOW I USE IT

Face

As a last step to my skincare, especially before bed:
I sleep in air-conditioned room everynight and the dry air strips my skin of its moisture. Having dry skin by nature, I've always placed the importance of hydration at night as priority. I first go in with cleansing, tone, serums, moisturizer and lastly, the Nuxe Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse that acts as a barrier that seals all my skincare work together.
Touch up hydration throughout the day:

For all you people that experience really dry skin, the Nuxe Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse comes w a spray nozzle that makes it convenient for you to spray & go in the middle of the day. Use it how you would with a facial spray!

As a natural highlight:

There's another variant, the Nuxe Shimmering Dry Oil that is the gold version of the classic Huile Prodigieuse that contains very fine pearlescent mineral origins. Use it on the high points of the face and it totally works as a liquid highlighter!

BODY

As a body moisturizer:
The Nuxe Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse is not sticky, oily, nor heavy-feeling. In fact it feels almost satin-y when you apply the dry oil to your limbs, giving it a healthy glow and my skin feels so much softer and hydrated after
As a leg shimmer:
Another trick I like to do to enhance the looks of my legs is to use this body oil to give me that extra glow that I want! Instead of going out to buy other shimmery body oils that only gives you aesthetics value, why not opt for one that is natural and healthy for your skin at the same time?

Hair

As a Hair Oil:
Dry and brittle ends that are too unsightly? No problem, simply spray a little in your fingers and apply it to the ends of your hair. The oil helps to tame flyaways, frizz and also gives it that gorgeous shine.

Now, we know why this multi-purpose oil is such a practical and cult product!
I've been so inspired by the Nuxe Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse and have now changed the way I look at oils today. Not all oils have to be eeky feeling and oily, you just gotta find the right one!
I would highly recommend this to people with normal to dry skin.
